Ontario is extending DST??

I just read something from Reuters saying that Ontario is joining the US in their cockamamie idea of extending daylight savings time. What the heck? I thought that there were numerous studies that proved DST was bad for the economy and for farmers (the two things/people that are supposed to benefit). Ontarians - what is going on? It is hard enough remembering when it changes now.

Liz, this is going to happen next year with extended daylight time! This is good as it will not get dark as early for as long. They are going to start later November and it will be only 4 months instead of longer.....this is great for the economy and for costs of hydro etc. This is good! They should do it this year....I hate showing houses in the evening when it is dark.....which is 5 to 6 in January/February. Mom

So great for you... but won't kids be walking to school in the dark?
