everything is Christmas-y

All the decorations are going up around the office complex around my train station. I've also seen several Christmas trees up, and the carols are in full force in shopping center ambient musak. I find it really funny that Japan does all this decorating when they don't even celebrate the holiday. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to pull out the Japanese New Year decorations? I would love to see bamboo and the paper decorations they make.
